Pegasus One Health Offers CMS-0057-F Readiness Program As Payer Prior-Auth Deadlines Approach

Summary: With the January 1, 2027 FHIR API deadline only five months away, our healthcare division offers assessment, integration packages, and implementation support for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, CHIP, and QHP payers.
Fullerton, California, July 2026 — Pegasus One, a Southern California-based custom software development company with a dedicated healthcare practice Pegasus One Health, reminds about the availability of the CMS-0057-F readiness program for payers facing the final compliance deadlines of the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule.
The regulatory clock is no longer theoretical. The rule’s operational requirements have been in force since January 1, 2026, including 72-hour decision timeframes for urgent prior authorization requests, 7 calendar days for standard requests, and specific reasons for every denial. The first round of public prior authorization reporting is already behind payers. What remains is the hardest part: by January 1, 2027, impacted payers must have four production FHIR APIs live, covering Patient Access, Provider Access, Payer-to-Payer data exchange, and Prior Authorization.
“The 2026 requirements could be met with process and policy changes. The 2027 deadline cannot,” said Tushar Puri, CEO of Pegasus One. “Standing up four production FHIR APIs is an engineering problem, and payers who have not started are working against a fixed date. Our program exists to give those teams a realistic path: know exactly where you stand, close the gaps in the right order, and get to production before the deadline rather than explaining afterward why you missed it.”
The Pegasus One readiness program consists of three components:
Free CMS-0057 FHIR Readiness Assessment: A structured evaluation of a payer’s current systems against the rule’s API and data requirements, identifying gaps across Patient Access, Provider Access, Payer-to-Payer, and Prior Authorization capabilities.
FHIR Integration Packages: Fixed-scope engagements built on Pegasus One’s pre-built FHIR-native accelerators, ranging from basic integration through enterprise-scale implementation, along with FHIR strategy and compliance advisory for organizations that need a roadmap before they need code.
Implementation and Automation: Full engineering delivery by teams trained in HIPAA, SOC 2, and healthcare interoperability standards, including AI-assisted prior authorization workflows such as automated submissions, eligibility and benefits verification, and status tracking that reduce administrative burden beyond the compliance minimum.
The program is available to Medicare Advantage organizations, Medicaid and CHIP managed care plans, state Medicaid and CHIP agencies, and Qualified Health Plan issuers on the federally facilitated exchanges. Pegasus One integrates with the major EHR platforms including Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, and NextGen, and brings more than 15 years of engineering experience across payers, providers, and digital health companies.
Payers can begin with the free CMS-0057 readiness assessment.
